Payton Pritchard exploded for 33 points against the Raptors as the Celtics needed the offensive production with no Jaylen Brown.

Pritchard is 27 years old, was Sixth Man of the Year last year and continues to get better. He may not be your classic NBA scoring dynamo, but Pritchard clearly can put the ball in the bucket, set up his teammates and even grab a surprising amount of rebounds for a player his side.

Payton Pritchard scored 19 of his 33 points in the third quarter and added 10 assists and eight rebounds Saturday night as the visiting Boston Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors 112-96.

Neemias Queta scored 14 points, Luka Garza chipped in with 12 and Hugo Gonzalez added 10 as the Celtics won their third straight meeting with Toronto. Boston’s Jaylen Brown, who scored 30 points in Friday’s home win over the Miami Heat, sat out because of an illness.

The Celtics had a clean injury report, but they had a relatively late addition ahead of the Pistons game Monday.
