The New York Mets are being urged to make a noteworthy offseason addition after their sluggish start to the winter.

If a free agent spent time with the New York Yankees, there would likely be some report coming out that the Mets aren't too far behind, making their own full-court press for the player. It doesn't matter if it means letting go of two of their all-time players who have been bright spots for seven seasons.
