The Denver Broncos took over sole possession of the No. 1 seed in the AFC with their win over Green Bay Sunday and could secure the AFC West title with a win over Jacksonville in Week 16 and a loss by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Nine more teams have playoff-clinching scenarios in Week 16 -- four in the AFC and five in the NFC.

Though Saban agreed that the Aggies have one of the top home-field advantages in the sport, he thinks part of that is due to piping in fake crowd noise. Saban even added that he took his complaints to the league office while he was still coaching.

With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, this year's playoffs are shaping up to be historically wide open.

The school announced the extensions for offensive coordinator Mack Leftwich, defensive coordinator Shiel Wood, associate head coach and special teams coordinator Kenny Perry, and GM James Blanchard.

The playoff expansion likely will allow all football teams with three or four wins in the nine-game regular season to make the playoffs. Previously, all five-win and some four-win teams made the field.
