Is anybody else getting this many ads on prime video? They’ve rolled out the ads now and I can’t watch a show without being shown an ad at least every 5 minutes but sometimes even less. It’s made it completely unwatchable. Feels like I’m being literally bullied into paying more (I won’t be).
The ads are now so obnoxious, it is a waste of money even belonging to Prime. Most packages ordered from Amazon have free delivery and Prime is no faster for a Prime member.
Simply put, Prime Video is the weak link in Amazon services. Likely, they gave it time to succeed and it underperformed, so when facing reducing the amount they spend in the department they instead opted for ads. Or a 3 dollar increase to service price. Now the video department has a bit more time to improve revenue without the loss of more ...
The new ads on Prime are only being added to things watched as a part of Amazon Prime’s streaming service library. It does not add commercials to the channel add-ons you can subscribe to, nor does it add commercials to purchased or rented content.
Amazon Prime Video is a direct-to-consumer streaming service. This is a fan-run community and is in no way authorized, sponsored, or endorsed by Amazon or their partners.
When Amazon Prime was $79.99 as late as 2017, it offered Prime Videos ad-free, Prime Music basic (on-demand), unlimited music cloud storage, unlimited photo and video cloud storage.

Amazon prime has this option and less than half of their pre-roll ads for prime included content are what I don’t want to watch. Unfortunately you can’t skip the items not interested in but can conveniently ad items you’re interested in that would be otherwise overlooked.
Just started a movie. Prime customer. Now there are ads in my movies? Time to cancel I guess? : r/amazonprime Go to amazonprime r/amazonprime r/amazonprime
And now Amazon Prime, which we pay $139/yr for prime shipping wants $36/yr more for ad free video and used to be a bonus video and music perk is now really just kind of lame music selection and rarely watched video service and is now jamming ads down our throats unless we pay more??
